This recalls great memories, and some humorous ones. A good friend from Charleston told me about his first duck hunt with his Dad. They were kneeling down on a pond dam that the ducks were known to pass over. Dad tells Gess to stay down until he says get up and shoot, and that when he did the ducks would be right in front of him. When this happened, on cue, Gess stood up and a greenwing teal hit him dead on in the chest, knocking him backwards. He said it hurt like heck, and scared the crap out of him!
