Jim, we had temps overnight in the 30s but by mid-day it was 70. Sounds like this week's temps are not much different. Tough on the dogs.

Run into any woodcock? We only flushed 3.

Mike that's exactly the weather we had. We flushed about 25 grouse and 15 woodcock, but saw very few of the grouse due to the leaf cover. It was so bone dry and crunchy I'm sure there were more grouse we moved that we didn't know of. The lowest it got over night was 36 so we didn't have the benefit of a frost to burn off in the morning to help scenting.
