A PHE ---28 bore ---with original 24 "barrels ---of which I had Herb Stratameyer open to IC/IC from the factory M/F---the gun is deadly on woodcock and grouse and a Remington 700 bolt .338 Win Mag for boar and elk .

The gun I shoot the best ,is my PH 20 Ga. with 28" Barrels ,and it is a joy to carry at an even 6 lbs , but the gun I enjoy carrying the most is my DH grade, 28 Ga. with original factory, 25" Barrels .I only take her out on beautiful sunny Fall days and I don't really get much shooting in when I carry it ,I am always day dreaming and admiring the gun and thinking how fortunate I am to have the privilege to be her care giver ,at least for a while ! Papa's 20 gauge Trojan is my favorite Parker. I would have to put Uncle Bill's 16 gauge VH that we think he received in 1927 as a graduation present from Washington and Lee as my next favorite. Uncle Taylor's 10 gauge lifter falls right in there with the previous two. I spent a lot of time in the field with Papa, Bill and their Parkers, but not with Taylor and the 10 gauge. It is still one of my go to guns. I have to throw a 28 gauge VH into the mix as MY Parker. I can't remember who coined the phrase, but the little 28 handles "like Tinker Bell's wand".

A 28ga I never saw that was a gift to my father from his older brother is what piqued my interest in these guns. My favorite to shoot, however, is the reproduction 12 ga below because I shoot it very well. It is the only double gun, or gun period, that I have ever used to make a tripple. The birds were gadwall, one with the first barrel two with the second. Mostly luck but perhaps we all shoot better with Parkers, repro or original.
Feeble attempts at sill life by yours truly.

Filson and Parker will always make a good "still life". By the way, who did the wood on your Repro. The color is wonderful.

Thanks for the compliment. Brad Bachelder did the wood and case colors. I showed pics of this gun last summer when he returned it to me. He has done all 3 of my repros, 12, 20 & 28, but I think this one is my favorite. It really looks like what I imagine a D grade would have looked like off the shelf in the Remington days. I think it was Brad's favorite too from our discussions.
I used it last weekend for one leg of our winter league sporting clays shoot and managed a 77. OK for me especially since I was only shooting 7/8 oz loads as I am still coming back from surgery on both shoulders.
