Two years back I gave my friend Mike an education on "popinkies" (honey mushrooms). There's a stump nearby his station #3 on the main course that was absolutely loaded with them. I always have a bag with me when hunting grouse in the earlier part of the season here in PA. No telling when you come across them and especially so in briars, logged off areas and on decaying stumps. Clipped as low as possible with a hunting knife, cull any showing brown or bug holes in the stem, and then into the bag.

Still no positive ID of the clump in the pic I posted yesterday?
