Yes, the forend can be gutted of the ejector parts and all will operate fine. The only thing is that the shells will not lift up very far out of the barrels when you open it. Some would find it difficult to remove the shells after firing like this. Especially with gloves. But you can easily see what you think before you do anything. Just open it without firing the gun to see how far they come out.
