Pictures would be very nice.

A 1-frame you say, but you didn't say what gauge it is...

If you don't have a chamber depth gauge you should have one or at least something with which you can accurately measure the chamber depth. If it is a 12 gauge on the 1-frame I would suspect the originality of the 2 3/4" chambers you say it has. Barrel wall thickness, especially at the juncture of the chamber and the beginning of the forcing cone. You really need to measure the wall thickness of your barrels.
