Jim Geary was foreman of the barrel assembly shop. Earlier the oval had a WK in it for Walter King. The oval with the JG disappeared when the started using the PARKER BROS. OVERLOAD PROVED stamps.

216976 02 V in circle barrel steel.jpg But no such marking on 217036 -- 217036 01 VH, 16-gauge, xx-inch.jpg From my observations the lowest serial number I've recorded with the PARKER BROS. OVERLOAD PROVED stamp on its original barrels is 219511 -- 219511 01a.jpg However, this could be a gun that languished in inventory as it has what appears to be a Remington date code of BD (B = January, D = 1935 )?!? Here is 220042 with the PARKER BROS. OVERLOAD PROVED stamp -- 220042 02.jpg |
