Well folks according to the most recent American Rifleman we are the cause of the ammo shortage. Hornaday, Fiochi, and Sierra said that there work forces are all working overtime and Hornaday commented that there workforce was exhausted. Browning and Winchester both replied that demand was extremely high. An individual rifleman was interviewed and commented that he had purchased a case for each of his 12 rifles. That set him back $3200. My only question is that those among who hoard ammo also hoard toilet paper?

As has been noted regarding parachutes... If one needs ammo and doesn't have it, he may not need it again. TP somewhat less urgently...

And... No one is FORCING anyone to buy overpriced ammo.

Default Ammo

A fellow skeet shooter was on the wait list a local sports shop in Lehigh Co. PA. He was able to purchase a flat of Federal Top Gun this week for $89 plus tax. Limit of 1 flat per customer.

He left after shooting 2 rounds. Needs to make his supply last a while.

Default Ammo/Beer Run

Today was a very profitable/expensive day. Tennis got cancelled this morning, so made a beer run across state lines to Capelli's beer distributor in Washington, Pa--much better prices than here in Wheeling, so WTH, picked up 4 cases of Yuengling. Then on to a little business that sells reloading supplies on the side: picked up a couple thousand primers at $30/thousand, a few lbs of 20/28 powder and more shot. Price gouging has not hit here. Then cross country to see Brett Hoops, who had picked up a couple bags of shot for me a month ago. We ogled, weighed, and discussed our Parkers and future wants and needs, while his bird dogs listened intently( or maybe they were bored).
On the way home, got a call from my friend Mike who had just picked up a skid of dog food, several of us feed. So met him and took 6 bags. So I'm good for a while--plenty of shot, primers, and powder--plenty of beer and 4 months worth of dog food.
