It is extremely difficult to find ANYTHING wrong with this late Parker.

The checkering and borders are absolutely correct - the wood is what I would expect to see on a Grade 2 Ilion Parker - the grip cap indicating Meriden is pretty typical, not all late ones said Ilion - the fit of the butt plate is a bit suspect... we would have expected the wood to have shrunk rather than swelled - the barrel blue is exactly what we should expect of a low grade Ilion Parker - the list goes on....

The engraving around the screw tip on the top tang behind the safety is a new one on me but who's to say it isn't original?

The case colors look like they could have been done by Turnbull... but judging by the condition of the rest of the gun (which I believe is original) they may very well be original Remington colors.

If I was in the market for a gun such as this one I would pounce on it and keep bidding....
