Interesting question about the mid-bead. I did some measuring and found the following for it's worth:

SA, 32 inch barrel, mid-bead is 18 inches behind front bead. PB

SB, 32 inch barrel, mid-bead is 17 3/4 inches behind front bead. Rem

SC, 32 inch barrel, mid-bead is 17 3/4 inches behind front bead. Rem

SC, 30 inch barrel, mid-bead is 18 inches behind front bead. Rem

GHE, 30 inch barrels, mid-bead is 14 1/4 inches behind front bead. PB

All the forgoing guns have vent ribs.

The 32" SB and SC are within one serial number of each other.
