No harm in at least trying one and see if it’s a good seal. WST is a bit bulkier than some powders, so depending on what powder you’re using, the wad may go in far enough to. Get a good seal.
Load a few, then shake them around a bit, and tap them crimp side down on the bench. Then dissect them to see if any powder passed through into the shot cup.
You always seem to have bulk supplies in stock, so if you have a stock of 7625, 20 grains is a nice 7/8oz. load, rolled or crimped.

I ordered four bags of the wads you suggested a 16 roll crimper and a 16 short kit for a JR .

Kinda hoping to use Unique or Universal Clays as I have PLENTY of both .

I bought a bunch of 7625 of a gentleman on here over a year ago . I've got between 18-20 pounds at the moment I think . Before they stopped selling 7625 I was using that for everything from the 10 to the 28 . Now I've pretty much gone to it for only the 10 gauge and buck/slug loads in the other gauges . But I might have to try some 7625 .

I might hold off on the roll crimping thing until I can get a couple hundred nice new Cheddite hulls as opposed to reconditioning the RST's I have on hand .

I'm pretty sure if I get to a point where I'm satisfied with the 16 2 1/2 loads it might be expanded to 20 2 1/2' as well ! I have a very lightly used W&C Scott crystal indicator 20 gauge that is of course 2 1/2" .
