My only experience with small bore 16s and 20s is with modern ones which are perhaps overstuffed with payload and in such light guns they were unconformable to shoot . I always get funny looks when I tell people id rather shoot 10 gauges instead of a 20 haha .

Do you shoot reduced loads in your 10's?

Someday come to one of the SxS events and I'll give you the 20ga of your choice to shoot with some of my 3/4oz. loads. Bet you change your tune.

The shells are on me but you will have to return the gun.

I want to say so far ive owned 7, 10 gauges that last 3 were 2 7/8" guns .
I have only used the RST 1 1/8oz loads out of them and in a 10lb gun they barely recoil . I havnt got the chance to try the almost 13lb #6 frame 10 gauge yet (our local range banned shotguns) . I think though with the RST loads it will be a gentle giant .

I not opposed to smaller guns by any means , in fact I have been looking at a PH 16 gauge to go with my Parkers 10 gauge . I think I would enjoy the smaller gauge doubles with the RST loads than I did modern 16s and 20s .

There was a sxs event only a few hours from here I looked at that I seen posted here on the forum but the flyer said it was only for 12 and 20 gauges if I recall .

I like 10’s for sure and the new to me 8 is growing on me . But for pure pleasure and fun shooting I’d rather have the little 28 or perhaps one of the 16’s .

I handled a CZ bobwhite 28 gauge awhile back and I liked the gun and a 28 gauge does sound fun but it felt little in the hands .
