I just went and measured the cases that my two 28 ga. Repros came in.
28 ga. snap caps fit rather loosely in the holes for them so I really can't comment on what gauge the cases were made for but 12 ga. snap caps certainly will not fit the holes.

The case that my straight grip, splinter forend gun came in is 30 1/4" long, 7 1/4" wide, 3 3/8" deep.

The case that Kathy's pistol grip, beavertail forend gun came in is 28 3/8" long, 7 1/4" wide and 3 1/8" deep.

These measurements are all outside measurements.

Both guns have 26" barrels. These measurements do not include the leather corner reinforcement patches. Both sets came with the canvas cover which fit their respective cases perfectly.

Opinions??
