OH, here’s a pic of the adjustment ball where the spanner will fit.The liquid around the ball is Kroil. I place some there every day. Hopefully when I have the tool it will help me make an adjustment without needing much heat or elbow grease.

My backup tool for stuck balls is a steel punch, rounded at the front to fit in the depression. A couple of stern whacks with that punch has always gotten my Lefever balls started. The bicycle spanner is very likely not up to the "Lefever task".
