Garry,

A nice article on your 20 gauge Parker. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with the ability to miss seemingly simple shots! My 20 gauge DHE was also ordered by a gentlemen from Kentucky (J.B. Gatliff of Williamsburg). Interestingly it was ordered by Bourne and Bond out of Louisville in 1916. The dimensions are close to your gun and the chokes were ordered as RH 40% LH 60%.

Wow, Ken, your 20 sounds like perfection for a bird hunter. Interesting similarities to my 1918 version. Those Kentucky gents knew how to spec a bird gun.

As for the missing of simple shots, well, what can I say? I'm just glad I excel at something. The only time I shoot worse is when I see the bird on the ground in front of the point. I'm just doing my part for conservation.

Rick, I'll pass on your comment to my wife, Elaine, who took the photo. She's the best hunting companion I've every had.

My compliments to the photographer! It’s a great photo.....if it had Pointers in it! I jest but it really is a great photo, I saw it through the plastic in the mailbox and was like whoa! Anyone with dogs has been in that moment and it was captured very nicely! Best of luck and hope to see more!

I have always chosen the cover photo after much careful consideration, taking in all aspects of what each picture portrays to me and I hope to our readers.
It has often been difficult to decide, even among some pictures that weren’t sent by authors but that spoke to a season or type of shooting. But very very few just reach out and grab me... This one did though. It was so easy to choose because it spoke to me of memories of my own hunting. Memories of success early on a frosty morning.... well, I don’t want to repeat what I wrote in “The Cover” on page 3. Thanks Garry and thanks to Elaine as well!

Dean and Garry,

I'm just glad to see Gordon setters on the front cover! Not many people hunting with them anymore and they are a "throwback" to previous times.
