I don't know the answer to that. The seller said he does not take down and clean all firearms that come in that are older. Seems to me if it was gummed up the inertia wouldn't work at all, but it works with snap caps not live rounds. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller. Google isn't showing me much. I'm wondering if I should post this elsewhere in this forum rather than new member intro?
