I always go back and forth on what the best size is for bismuth shot duck hunting and it seems like when you hit them with #4 you have a hard hit duck that's likely dead and not one your chasing around the slough. At longer ranges, 40+ yards, which are typically what mallards are at #5 and #6 just don't seem to have the knock down power.
