Bill: Old soft cotton T-shirt or any soft cotton cloth.

Wipe the outside dry first.

Remove the forend and wipe dry inside
Remove the barrels and wipe dry
Wipe the frame dry

Now a light coat of oil wiped over all metal
Clean the bores with a final pass of light oil

You can also spray the action with light oil and let it run out with the butt stock propped high and metal resting low.
Cheers,
Jack

Thanks Jack, I'd be worried about water in the action with resulting rust and crud. Do you know of a water displacing spray that wouldn't gum up the action? It rains hard and often here . I used a composite stock Remington this morning because it was raining so hard. Guess I just like to baby the Parkers. Bill

William, Do everything that Jack suggested but buy yourself a can of Ballistol. Spray a cotton cloth till it is wet with the stuff and wipe the whole gun down wood and all. Run a couple of patch's soaked with it down the bores and leave it. I have had Parkers soaking wet and after using this stuff not a speck of rust anywhere.

Here is some info for Ballistol. Comes highly recommended by many. This happens to be a Canadian supplier. Clickhere
