I am not so sure you would have to have the ribs removed and relaid if only a small bit of solder is missing now due to the heat gun. A good gunsmith may be able to fill/fix the void without further damage or work required. There is paste designed so that it does not transfer heat to the other solder and Brownells also sells solder that has a much lower melting point than standard solder; comes in sticks. I have used it on the ends of barrels where the solder was missing with good results.
