Default Parker - serial records

I am attempting to determine if Parker serial number records exist, along with the association to the original purchaser's name. I hope to utilize this information to attempt to recover a 12 gauge Parker (dog and pheasant + engraving) that was stolen while I served in the USAF (Florida - 80s). All assistance will definitely be appreciated.

If you post the serial number of your gun, someone will tell you whether any records exist on your particular gun.

Thumbs up No serial - but have original purchaser

Thanks Bill! Unfortunately, I don't have the serial number, so I'm tracing from my grandfather, Fred W. Nickerson. He lived in Nova Scotia, Massachusetts, and Florida.

I believe so. I have provided information about Fred W. Nickerson and his father, Calton Nickerson, to the Nickerson Association (MA), who trace Nickersons back to the 1500s. I believe one of them ordered the Parker shotgun, so I'm hoping for tracability from names to serial number. I believe the gun was a DHE from the early 1900s.

Daniel, the PGCA has order books up to December 1919 and stock books (some are missing). The order books have the dealer name, date ordered and shipped, description of the gun, price, etc. Very few orders have the name of the buyer. Dealers would order guns and in some cases the buyers name would appear in the order. An example is where the shield would have the buyers initials. Individuals did order a few guns but I would say the percentage is less than 1%. There are thousands of pages of order books so unless you know the date of purchase it is impossible to find a gun buy looking for a name.

Mark,

I appreciate your insight. The loss of this shotgun will not escape me. So, I can only provide the information that I have available. I believe the gun was pawned in North Florida around 1981-83 with a cracked stock. Assuming the gun was puchased via a dealer, I would assume locations of: Monument Beach, Massachusetts (or) Barrington, Shelborne County, Nova Scotia, Canada. More than likely, Monument Beach (estimating 1920-30). I recognize all of this as a long-shot, but remain an optimist.
