eBay 600 came & short kit from Mec too. Set it up this weekend. Cut once fired Herters hulls to 2 9/16 inch. 16 grs Hodgdon Intl. D 16 wad 3/4 oz # 8.. Near perfect short shell with one problem.

Cutting down the hull little bit of the origionsl 6 pt fold left about 1/16 inch. The Mec Spindex crimper won't pre crimp properly. Result is a crushed final crimp. Solved it by pre crimping on my PW 375 which pre crimps perfectly. I am aligning the little remaining crimp with the steel fingers on the PW pre crimper. (Shell die out hull sitting on a spacer in the die holder)

Then over to the Mec for final crimp, looks good as factory. I have another 600 set up for short 10s and the Spindex works fine on it.

Not much can be done to the Mec pre crimper no adjustments. Any ideas what is gong wrong ? Seems to me I read Mec 16 Spindex has some issues.
