Dean, I bought the Grade 2(or equivalent for the year) lifter 12 gauge Serial#3492. Straight stock with what looks like nice wood, damascus barrels with clean bores and described as having a slight play in the action. I couldn't tell from the picture but I believe it would have the "pin" the comes up when the action is open. I really like the early lifters and bid accordingly. Did you see it?

Jay... 3492 was high on my list at that auction. I thought it was a good example of a lifter with a retrofitted W.F.Parker patent bolt and bite modification (TPS pg96). I also thought it was worth more than high estimate, so I threw in an overbid. The absentee bidder was more aggressive, so I ducked! Wish I knew then what I know now! I did however bring home a pretty descent VH12 on a 1-1/2 frame.

I have attended nearly every Amoskeag auction held this century, and found them very honest and professional in my dealings, buying and selling.
