Mike -
My buddies (or Brothers as I usually refer to them) were all smiles at first showing. I brought it to the Marsh this weekend and all were proud that it is in "the room". I expect the gun (if it could) would be beaming with its new found attention and adoration.
Few things make me smile more than seeing these old guns rise from the darkness of a closet or hard case to a sunrise full of duck calling and whistling wings.
Second to that is the ability to share one with friends and acquaintances across the entire country via this site. I (like many) visit these pages almost every day. I know I am not alone in finding much enjoyment through pictures and descriptions of these old guns as they resurface for their next chapter.
A good friend once told me "We are not the owners of these guns. Just custodians and caretakers for a while." I believe there is much truth to that.
I am already thinking about - and hunting for - the next one!!!
