I think your getting the cart ahead of the horse or the name ahead of the dog. get the pup and spend some time with him, Learn his personality and the correct name will come to you.

Strange you mention that !

In my early twenties I had a pair of rabbit beagles , my wife at the time was after me to name them so I told her one was named A..s..s and the other was named Hole !

If you're any sort of a traditionalist, and it's a Llewellin setter use a derivation of its pedigree name. If it's just an ES, any name will do.
