Need Name for English Setter Male Pup
I'm getting a male tri-color English Setter pup in about 4 weeks from a friend and guide at Markover in Connecticut. Not my first setter but when we moved back to Massachusetts from southern Ohio I lost one setter in a hurricane and the mother, Molly, lived another 4 years before I had to put her down due to congestive heart failure. Broke my heart. Did not get another setter but did raise and train two labs as we were doing some serious salt water duck hunting.
I'm taking suggestions from friends and family for a male name and this includes the Parker Forum. One of my daughters thinks I should name it 'Parker' but that's too easy. My last Setter male was named 'Briar' and the male lab was named 'Winston' to give you a feel for my leanings I suppose. Any suggestions? :corn: |
I've always liked Parker, but it is a bit cliche for a bird dog.

Lord McKinley Morganfield on the registration papers (also add a middle name of choosing if desired). Call him Mac or Morgan, but I would call him Muddy. (McKinley Morganfield aka Muddy Waters). Muddy Watters was the single most important artist to emerge in post-war American blues.

Morgan has a nice ring to it. 'Morg' come in! 'Morg' whoa!

My nominee would be The Citadel, with the call name Del.

What's the prize for the winner?
How about "Studley Do-Right"? . |
Google "George Washington's Dog's" I have used several of his dogs names in the past. All top notch names.

Allen, sounds like you like tradition and you had Winston. How about Churchill?

My granddad's ES was called Spot or Spotty. Imagine that.
