I had been watching this old fella for 6 months at gun shows and I believed it to be a diamond in the rough. W.W. Greener trap with 32" barrels in great shape and HEAVY! It had a donor gun that included a top lever return spring needed and a couple screws. The extra barrel set unfortunately is quite a bit different. Nice custom engraved shield. Gonna have Mr D spruce up the wood and damascus...............I really like this gun!

I'm sure you will have the locks stripped down, cleaned of rust, polished and re-oiled.
I also believe I see a small split in the wood behind the right lock plate. Probably one behind the left as well. This is not uncommon. But must be properly repaired for future service.
The stock oval may or may not be savable. Although the flogging it exhibits is part of the gun's unfortunate history...

Oh yeah little problems here and there, wood is an easy fix and I cleaned up the locks for the most part before I sent it. The other stock has a perfect shield so everything is going to come together nicely!

W.W. Greener's Modern Shot Guns, 1888 contains an advertisement for “The Trap Gun” -
“It is a new and improved model of this most popular gun. Designed specially to the requirements of American Sportsmen, and, in addition to the usual improvements formed on modern complete guns, has Treble Grip from the Top Lever, and is well and tastily finished and elegantly engraved. The shooting of each gun is guaranteed.”
I once knew of a Greener Trap Gun like that, that was a ten gauge.
Both hammers were silvered back together and it had yew dowels inside of the stock. It seems a prior owner committed suicide with a firearm and his family smashed up his collection. Literally.
