Generally they are stock less than 1 1/2 2 1/2 most are 1 1/4 x 2 3/8 I have had some that the heal was 2 1/8 Always ask seller before buying one. After shooting clays for years with a 20gauge repro and hunting with a 16gauge I like my guns stocked a tad high. I am a bird hunt and it seems to work well hunting with a high stocked gun. The bad thing now is its really hard to find the old Parker and fox guns that are stocked less than 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 )-: I have a few original parkers that are stock high and shoot them well....Fox guns are very hard to find stocked less than 1 1/2 x 2 1/2. I only have one sterlingworth that is 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 and I shoot it pretty good on birds long as the shots are not past 35 yards as I will shoot under and miss the bird. SXS Ohio.....(-:
