Several of us will be at Deep River on Thursday early and shooting the five stand. We plan on having a 16 gauge match/ grudge match. So bring your main gun and pack a 16 if you want to join us.

Open to hammer or hammerless. Totally unstructed but fun none the less.

Hope all who want to come can make it. Safe travels to all.

John,
Will this match be Sporting or Five Stand? I acquired a 32" 16 gauge with full/full chokes that I am shooting really well and would like to join the fun.

I enjoy both The Southern at Deep River and the "prelim" at Drakes and shoot both clubs. I think they compliment each other and there is no need to disparage one over the other. Lets just have some fun!!

Guys just a thought for future Southerns.

The idea of adding an event Ie: the eight bore event just shows the continued support, interest and enthusiasm for the Challenge Event between Smith and Parker.

Several of us have talked and I would like to suggest for consideration we add an event in the future (obviously not this years)
Add a Challenge Event on Thursday. Rick is always there Wed PM and set up ready to go Thursday am. Any event at this time would not interfere or alter or take away from the tradition of the true Challenge Event.
This Thursday event would be for Thursday only (Smith and Parker only) and on the five stand and be gauge specific each year. So one year it is 16 the next 20 the next 410 the next 10. Hammer or hammerless. (obviously no 28 bore as smith does not have one)
Organized and run just like the other events/ same format/ same rules.
This would raise more money to be donated to charity and get more shooters involved and more guns put to use.

Just a thought. Please consider and think it over.

I have a 32 inch barreled 16ga hammergun. Sounds like fun.

COB: sounds like a very nice gun. I am glad to hear you are interested.

I posted on the Smith site so hopefully those boys show some interest in an unstructured 16 gauge event.

Hope to see yall there.
