I shot trap in college and at the college midwest regionals with my old Mod1912 Win made in 1916. I had foam rubber padding duct taped on the stock. The others were all shooting modern semi autos and Browning Superposed bought by dad or the university. Some I beat, others beat me.
If he must shoot a 20ga, I'm sure you can find him a suitable 20ga Parker opened to skeet chokes.
