i think what you see on the left is just a scrape,
I agree the wood is likely refinished- without knowing the price - PH are nice, but don't seem to bring top dollar with all that said =nice gun - i you think the price is fair- go for it

Wood refinished. Forend oversanded and is below metal.

The feedback on the PH was interesting. As a newcomer to parkers ( got my first 18 months ago ) I am learning. I always am interested in what the members think of a gun. I did not notice the oversanded forearm, but when back to the pics and got it. When I look at or handle a Parker I look for the positive and not what is wrong with it as I should.
