patterns for 16 ga.
just got through pattern some winchester double x shells and some remington loads.range was 40 yards the target was a 30 inch .the winchester shell was a load of 3 1/4 1 1 /16 shot that were no 6 s. the gun used was a lc smith 16 ga 28 inch barrels modified and full chokes.the modified barrrel put 12 shot in the turkey neck area. full choke barrel put15 shot in the neck area.the pattern was very uniform. noholes in pattern... the remington load was a 3 1 ounce no 8 same gun used to pattern with.modefied barrel put 20 shot in head and neck. full choke put27 shot in the neck area. pattern very uniform through out target no holes in pattern.either one of these loads in my opion would have killed a turkey at this range.i personally like the no 6 shot onna count of a little more pentration. charlie ps these were new shells
