Default splinter vs Beavertail on repro

I had major mishap taking some guns out of the safe, one fell to floor out of safe butt
first and hit carpet but it was staight stocked 20 ga Repro That I bought some time ago from Dean Romig. It cracked wide open
on wrist. It could have been some of the older older model Parkers and would probably been no damage. I have John Garvin in Albany Ga. that can fix without a trace of repair.
I took the 28 in barrels Q1 and Q2 and put on another 20 repro and they fit fine but Beavertail won't fit, however the splinter does. If the barells fit why won't the Beavertail fit
thanks in advance for advice
