So Jerry, is it a Bernard gun? I keep track of these things. I know of two existing and one destroyed----- the barrels were hacksawed to less than legal length, the stock chopped, but a stock and Vulcan barrels fitted----. It would be great if another Bernard 16 was found, or any of the four 20ga Bernards found, none have.

What's the SN? I can't find a match in the SN book if it is a Bernard. Or maybe its not in the books, mine isn't.

Photos please. What is the engraving? Some of these were produced during the rondell period, like Larry's.

In halfway defense of the previous conflagration, Parker collectors see too many botched repair jobs by people who claim to be gunsmiths. They do more harm than good as a result of not having the skills, the knowledge, the patience, or the owner trying to go the cheap. Bill was likely on the way low side in identifying a small bore Bernard as a $10,000 gun(condition dependent of course) and its easy to be protective of these guns.
