Bruce, I guess you weren't exaggerating when you said that gun was nearly new. I like them to fit snugly so i was fortunate to have one with the same dimensions. Glad you like it. I also like that expression you told me that Hershel had for a "pretty girl".

The paper Federals in 7 1/2 make nice pheasant and prairie grouse loads for shooting over my setter and pointer. I don't know the pressure, its somewhere south of standard service loads for the gun. And if I miss, the consolation is picking up and smelling the fired paper shell. Off to Montana in a little over a month with this gun, my bird dogs and a couple friends. Open spaces, mountains and prairies , and walking to the horizon.
Just got back from the end of Scout camp. We took 620 kids through cowboy action shooting, one at a time, over the summer.
