I had a Shorthair who ate through a 4x4 treated post in his kennel. it took him a while but he got the job done. That dog would eat anything including the door of his new home.

Returned one night after a day of bird hunting with my DHE 12 and set the gun, in a gun sock, in the corner by the steps leading up to my gun room. As i was unloading the truck I came back into the house to find my female lab, Fox, chewing on the butt end of the gun sock. There must have been something tasty spilled on there as she gnawed the wood and Silvers pad pretty severely. Boy, talk about being sick and pissed at the same time. Luckily, Dewey Vicknair is close so I took it to him and he performed his magic. Can't tell it was ever damaged but the memory is still there.
