Thanks! It will reside for now, next to my "comfy chair" for a couple of weeks, so i cna fondle and memorize...the gun has nice dimensions, and shoulders nicely....will be a real dilemma trying to decide whether or not to shoot it. Any input or opinion on repairing the rib....with only a short piece loose...does the rib need to be totally re-laid, or are there folks that can repair just the popped up part. Incredible to me that even the silver on the triggers is not really worn, or the checkering on the butt.
I will endeavor to take better pics of the engraving....but what strikes me is the realistic expressions on the dogs faces. Oh....thanks again for any input...thirsty for knowledge! |

A 1-frame twelve gauge Parker is not at all an unusual gun. After the 1 1/2-frame was introduced around the turn of the century fewer 1-frame 12's were produced but a few were produced through the teens and possibly into the twenties but those would be scarce.
As long as the barrel wall thickness is sufficient I wouldn't hesitate at all to shoot that gun. The integrity of the rib to barrel solder joint has no bearing on the safe shooting of the gun but I would get it repaired none the less. |

Mark, you could not find a better barrel man then Kirk, you are very lucky to have him so close. The best there is when it comes to barrels IMHO.
