Default DHE 12 VULCAN BARREL

I just traded for this DHE and it has a Vulcan barrel with correct serial number of the frame. Would it have had the Damascus barrel replaced with a Vulcan steel barrel?
I'll have to get a letter Chuck. My book is in Az and I'm in Mt.
Serial number is 97000. Capped pistol;Skeleton plate; 30 inch.
Anyone have information at hand?

97000 is not in the book. 97001 & 97002 are and are listed as yours with 30'', CPG, no options.

Often times when shooters got a replacement or extra set of barrels they opted for a cheaper grade to save a few bucks. I have a GH-Grade with its original Damascus barrels and an extra set of Vulcan Steel barrels all numbered to the gun and "right."

Makes sense to me. Wish it still had the other barrel too. Oh well.
Thanks for the response.

97001 and 97002 are both Damascus barreled guns and it is highly likely that yours, 97000, was also made with Damascus barrels and they were replaced, like Researcher said, with the least expensive fluid steel barrels.
