They're Hitchcock. What's a set? Hitchcocks were sold by peddlars from their wagons, and most people bought them one at a time till they had enough. I have 6 in the Breakfast room, which are not old, probably from the 60s. I have another 8 from the 19th century. That table has been in the family for generations, and is documented Massachusetts, ca.1670. The bircage and chicken coop Windsor chairs are too fragile and got put in the attic. I suppose the chairs used when the table was made were rushed ladder backs.

The over ripe bananas go into bread, probably tomorrow. I'm having the Orange for lunch. Anything else?

Generally a set is an even number of somethin - in the case of household chairs, usually six or eight.

Anything else?

That's a great idea. But it means I will have to beg my siblings for pictures. And answer the same old questions of "how come you got all Dad's guns?.....[Because I was his hunting partner!!]

I thought the ripe bananas were intentional, an old timer once told me " when you get to be my age sonny, even buying green bananas is a bit of a gamble"

Buying green bananas is a gamble and at a certain point, a lifetime guarantee doesn't really mean that much.
