The factory chokes are very tight...the full side is often .038 Way over choke. Chokes can be altered but it must be done by a pro with good feed back. If not done properly it may not shoot point of aim or patterns may be poor. Connecticut shotgun may offer this service I would check with them. That said send it out and have them opened to your needs. The gun will be more useable if done properly.
