My Sauer hammer drilling is double 16 X 11.15X65, shoots short .410s just fine. Edgar helped me with some original ammunition which I will keep with the gun but won't fire.

Im not sure I ever told you, Bill, but that was also the rifle cartridge of my 2nd drilling, bought from Gary, in 1974. It, too, was a Sauer, but full sidelock top lever with a side cocking lever for the rifle hammer. it was one of the nicest Drillings I ever owned, 2nd only to a Merkel 20X20X8x60mm.
My wife and I had our condo robbed and the a$$hole stole the drilling.
The cutest was a 28gaX28xWin 25-25 hammer drilling. I believe Kirby Hoyt bought that one from Gary at the last Sandanona Vintagers.

My Sauer is the opposite working system from Edgar's. Mine is "Side lever to open, top lever to select rifle barrel." Pretty neat.

Wayne: The only number on the bottom of rifle barrel is 62/78. If that helps any. I also noted as Bill stated that a 410 fits real nice. Thomas
