The "American Flag Bunting", "Washington" or "Stars & Stripes" pattern was quite popular and is found on G & H Grade Lefevers, Ithaca Lewis Grade 4, Ithaca Flues 1 1/2 Grade, Remington 1894 C grade ("Washington N 3. B.P."), Syracuse Arms Co. ("Improved Damascus"), Spencer Gun Co., and Hollenbeck Gun Co. drilling barrels.

Walt Snyder's 4E Flues

This is the 'gold towel guy's' Remington 1894 C grade

The 'lopin' started like this and the pattern was developed specifically for the U.S. market by E. Heuse-Lemoine

It is similar to Remington "Etoile 3. B.P." but with smaller and finer scrolls and stars. This also a 1894 C grade

Thanks Tom. Do you know if your Pieper was for the U.S. market?
The pattern clearly shows that Washington was 3 Iron; 2 full scrolls between 1/2 scrolls.
I believe the 'gold towel' specimen Bruce posted is 2 Iron
