It is wise not to lengthen your VH forcing cones unless there is good physical reason to do so... and the barrels measure enough wall thickness to make the process safe.

In addition, you would not notice much if any recoil reduction afterward. If you desire less "kick" then try 7/8 or 3/4 oz loads for what I assume is a 12-bore. If you don't reload, then go to the RST website for their ammo choices. The simple physics of the matter are that the weight and velocity of the ejecta effect recoil. Not the forcing cone.

Bottom line: It's best to "lighten your load" ...not alter your gun.
