I have the same configured gun in 28ga except mine has a splinter FE and it had no canvas cover(I got one eventually), and it lost a little case coloring due to the receiver section not being wrapped properly, not wrapped at all actually, in the case for shipping - that wool felt is abrasive. I paid in the high $5K range. Mine is serial #1 and one of the NSFL series. Condition was essentially new but it had been fired.... I know that because the barrels had not been cleaned after firing and the dealer didn't even look down them to see. When I told them about that over the phone the reply was "we get a lot of guns and can't look at them all"...??.... Really???
