I have 10 old SxS's [ Parker or Remington ] and have bent all the stocks for the same measurements. For this reason I don't believe there should be a big difference in recoil. The Parker 10 I'm having trouble with is not a heavy weight - a little over 8#'s. The load was one of Sherman Bells - 18grs of 700X, Rem SP10 wad with a couple of 16ga cards inside, 1oz of shot. I shot the same load in the Remington - soft as can be. Shoot it in the Parker and my eye teeth come loose. I've been shooting and reloading since the 1970's. I'm at a loss.
