That is a new one for me. I would be curious as to how it was done and who did the work.

Without a picture its difficult to say whose conversion or trigger it is. Is there a selector anywhere? Miller and Infallible conversions were usually marked. It could be a Novotny patent or any number of other uncommon conversions that butchered the sears and other internal parts to work with the factory trigger.
You can usually rest easy with an unaltered Parker factory single trigger as they are typically quite reliable. The same could be said for unaltered Miller conversions. Others exist but they aren't always the most reliable or simple designs.

Not a Frank S. Novotny if that is to what you refer.

I would like to see a picture of the trigger with the stock off. Who knows what this mystery might be??? I would bet that it is repairable (It's a Parker).

I would love to see a couple of pictures on this one ! Who knows what the garage gunsmith can come up with. As I don't think this was a manufactured single trigger but who knows maybe........ With pictures maybe Researcher will set in

Whatever the trigger is, it sounds like some sort of non-selectable trigger that may or may not work.
Depending on how butchered up things are inside, the gun can likely be put back to double triggers without too much fuss.

Just my two cents worth, but I would try to calm down, wait to see the gun, get a letter, if possible, and who knows......... it might work just fine as is. Sometimes you can get a nice surprise. Mark
