What a great gun. The best of Parkers for all around shooting and hunting. Yeah, buy a 600 with a short kit. The alternative is to use sub gauge adapters with extractors. Either way, they are great guns and you have one of the good ones.

Or you can order a Ponsness Warren LS-1000 and send them an additional $40 to do whatever it is they do to make it 2 7/8" compatible . OF course the cost of the machine and shipping will more then likely almost run you twice what you paid for the gun

Tad: Good that you have the proper screw drivers. Do not tighten the floor plate screws on this gun. They look from the pics to be pretty flush with the plate. The left and right screws (as they sit under the left and right barrels, not as you look at the floor plate) are so far from being aligned with the long axis of the gun, they are most likely in the wrong holes. You can remove these two screws and not have something fall apart inside. I would remove the one under the right barrel first and check if it has a score line across the end. If so, that indicates it should be under the left barrel of the gun and you should swap them. Also, the rear floor plate screw appears over-tightened. You may have to live with that but you could back it off until it too is aligned with the long axis of the gun. If it still feels tight, you are ok but if it feels loose, I would snug it up again.

when the gun is upside down with the gun pointing away from you which barrel is the left and right....charlie

Hi Charlie: Consider the left barrel to always be the left when shooting. Doesn't change if gun is upside down or sideways. Kind of like the driver's side of the car is still the driver's side even when you have slid off the icy road and end up on the roof. Cheers, Jack

Another question for y'all.

This is my first 10 gauge and I'm trying to get set up to load for it.

I happened upon a 5 gallon bucket full of once fired Winchester 2 7/8" blank hulls.

Would these be acceptable to load for my old gun?
