Hey Harold ,How are you ? That 16 was a pretty nice little gun ,I figured you might regret not buying that one , you seemed taken with it at the time ! We will discuss the Damascus barrels ,just not sure what to do with her yet but will keep that in mind ! Thank You ; Russ

Russ, you got that one right out of my backyard! I live 15 minutes from Cabelas. I didn't see it for sale until Sunday evening and unbeknownst to me you had already snatched it up. I was going to go look at it on Monday. I'm glad you got it, just don't rub it in too hard!

Thanks David ,No rub here , I have quite a project going on and have just been too busy to get on and chat much or I would have mentioned it in the first posts in the For Sale section ! I Snagged it up pretty quick Sunday Morning ,I called a little before I thought the store might be open but they were and I talked to the Gentleman who listed it and we agreed if the Barrels were in bad shape ,I could send her back so I didn't see any reason not to get a first hand look at her ! It appeared a lot worse in the pictures they posted than what is actually is !

Small bore Damascus D's are just right for what we do Russ. That's a real sweetie!

Mine is out getting freshened up a bit. No work to the metal but it's getting the wood cleaned up and having the checkering cleaned out a bit (it was a bit filled with grime and crud) and a new oil and shellac finish with a new dark brown leather covered pad. It is a 20 gauge DH with 28" barrels choked open and lt. mod. I was lucky enough to talk Abe into doing it for me.

You are right Dean ,They are perfect for what we do ! Thank You for the kind words on the Old Girl ,it is a little Sweetheart ,You might say a Diamond in the Rough ! Just about the right weight also ,a tad over 6 Lb. I would hope it will keep swinging almost by itself ! The one little 28 I had was so lite ,I seemed to always be behind and unable to catch up !

Nice Russ. A 20 damascus, how sweet. She looks to have great patina and by taking her out in the rain you'd only add to that. Looks to be the twin to my GHE 16 Dam.
