Default JULIA AUCTION

Ray: If you're going to bid on ARTFACT.COM it is very helpful to have either a printed catalogue or another computer in front of you so you can see what's coming up & when.

Best Regards, George

Murphy, you certainly have a way with words. I understand about the computer screen and bourbon but after that, you've lost me

Chuck, Artfact allows us to sit in our homes and bid on guns for hours on end. These would be guns that our wives know we don't need, or have room for. However, it is a boon for the gun auction business, because every winning Artfact bid is a bid higher than they could get from the gallery.

Thanks Bill. How much higher does Artfact tack on to the winning bid?

So you won that SC at Alderfers using Arifact! Looks like you got a nice SBT! Now that I'm retired, I'll have to visit them for their firearms auctions

That's a pretty amazing site. There's a lot of nice gold coins going on an auction right now, and lots of interest in them.

Bill, does the ArtFact bid top phone bids also? So hypothetically you could bid on an item at an auction or by phone and think you were low bid, but could ArtFact top your bid? can another ArtFact top an ArtFact bid? and when do you know you have won the bid. Does the auctioneer say you were out bid by Art Fact? Thanks Gary

I don't think Bill is saying an Artfact wins in a tie with a floor bid. I think he is saying if an Artfact bidder wins the bid that was incremental money and a bid they wouldn't have received but for the fact that Artfact exists.

That's about it. I have no idea about ties. The Art Fact screen tells you what bid is being requested. If you hit the Bid Now button, my assumption is that it is your bid. The safe thing to do at that point is to hit it again if you are in doubt. The system, like an auctioneer, will not let you bid against yourself.

Bill is correct. When you hit the bid button on Artfact Live your screen registers your bid & tell you if you are the high bidder. If a higher bid comes in whether from the floor, phone or internet your screen telly that you have been outbid. The screen will normally say "fair warning" at least once before the auctioneer drops the gavel. If you are the high bidder your screen will say so. You can watch on Artfact without registering but you must register & be approved to bid in order to place bids. If you have previously been an Artfact bidder approval usually takes only a few minutes.

Best Regards, George
