JAMES JULIA AUCTION

Many rare Parkers for sale today & tomorrow at James Julia Auction. Included are THREE 8 bore guns, one upgraded to A-1 Special (Estimate $20-30K) A $250 Grade lifter & a Grade 5 lifter to name a few. Oh for some disposable income.:crying:

Best Regards, George

Just back from the auction, nothing followed me home but I kicked myself all the way home for passing up a 12ga AH that was grungy but unmolested.

I thought the prices were a bit soft on most all guns but the Parkers held up as well or better than the others: Lugars, Colt 1911'sfull auto,...the stuff that sold before the Parkers.

The A1S went for $50K, the restocked AAHE went for $19. The Oscar's restored B Lifter 12, with cut barrels, went for $4.5K and the Twohundred and Fifty Dollar Grade hammered at $7K, nice honest gun I may add.

It is unusual for me not to record the hammer prices for all the Parkers at an auction but today I was lazy and didn't, so I can't give a full run down, sorry.

Could you please tell me about what that gun went for?

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks Robin.

If it was what it appeared to be that seems like a great deal. The description mentioned a wrist repair which I assume was a pinned wrist but I couldn't detect it in the pictures.

Thanks again,

Mike

If you have a catalog, here are the few that I recorded.

Lot# and hammer price without his 17% added on or the Maine tax.

1195 $33,000

1196 $25,000
1197 $30,000
1198 $25,000

1199 $11,000 (CMC Fox 20ga)
1240 $8.000 (28ga Ithaca)
1241 46,000
1242 $4,000
1243 $4,400
1244 $3,000
1245 $3,000
1246 $4,200
1247 %2,750
1248 $5,500

Then I seem to have fallen asleep at the switch, so to speak.

1268 $7,000 (Lifter)
1269 $4,500
1270 $50,000
1270A $18,000 (I think?)
1272 $10,500 (THE ONE I SHOULD HAVE BID ON IT )
1274 $15,500
1285 $20,000
1286A $12,000

At this point I was so sick that my funds were low & I could not bid. I did get a 10 bore Parker hammergun from Poulin's for $200 and just missed a Super Fox HE. Oh Well!

I have never been to one of these auctions. Is there usually a large crowd or are most bids by phone or written order? Thx, Ray

Dean Romig 10-05-2011 04:24 PM

Usually 50 - 100 or so in attendance.

Bill Murphy 10-05-2011 07:51 PM

Ray, you can bid from your computer screen with a bourbon on the desk. It's called "Artfact". It will be the downfall of the American family but it will be the Renaissance of the collector gun trade in this country. I already have an "Artfact" SC in the safe and am looking for many more in the future. There is no threat of excessive competition. The flow of guns is just starting.
