Thanks Bill,I checked G&H long ago.I'm surprised how meticulous their record keeping was that it's not recorded who bought it.Not that it matters anyway.I have a factory engraved Savage 1899 with the fellow's name and town factory engraved on the bottom which happen's to be the town I hunt in upstate N.Y.The gun was delivered to him in 1903 and he happened to be the CEO of American Milk& Sugar,which later became Borden.Sometime the story behind the gun is more interesting than the gun.
